Om Hiranya Garbhaya Namaha
Om and salutations to the Shining One who heals and is golden colored.
Om Hiranya Garbhaya Namaha is a Sanskrit mantra dedicated to the Sun God. The word Om symbolizes the Supreme Reality or Brahman. The word Hiranya means ‘shining’ or ‘golden’ and Garbhaya means ‘born’. Therefore, Om Hiranya Garbhaya Namaha means salutations to the shining golden-born Supreme Reality or Brahman.
Hiranya means golden and also refers to Surya (Sun). Brahma is born from Hiranya; Hiranya is, therefore, one of His names. The word Garbhaya means born. Surya or the Sun is an important component of Hinduism—the sun is the source of life on earth. It is the chief source of energy for this universe and its maintenance. This is why we worship the Sun God. The Sun is the source of life and energy for living beings on earth; without it, we cannot live.
As per Hindu scriptures, there are 12 zodiac signs (Rashi) each representing a month (and some represent one half of a month). Each sign has different positive/negative attributes which are represented in human beings. The Sun stays in one of these signs for a period of approximately one month. The Sun’s movement from one sign to another gives rise to Dasha (Transits). These transits give rise to a lot of things in a person’s life. There are innumerable instances where the movement of the sun has given rise to significant changes in an individual’s life.
Mantras are a form of prayer or spiritual belief. The word “mantra” comes from the Sanskrit word “man” which means mind, and “tra” which means “to compose or repeat something”.
Mantras are sacred words or phrases which are repeated, often with the use of a mantra. They are used to help you get into a meditative state and to become more focused, relaxed, and calm. Mantras are often chanted aloud and sung or whispered to yourself silently.
