The Anahata Chakra is located at the heart, and it is the fourth chakra. The fourth chakra is about love, compassion, and forgiveness. When this chakra is open, we are able to give and receive love. We feel connected to others, and we are able to forgive. This chakra is also about our ability to be in the present moment when we are able to give our full attention to what we are doing and be more compassionate.
The fourth chakra is also where the knot (Vishnu Granthi) resides. It is located at three places along the spine and is responsible for passing energy (kundalini) up the spine. This chakra is also associated with the element of air and is therefore connected to our ability to breathe. When this chakra is balanced, we feel a sense of inner peace and calm. We are able to give and receive love unconditionally, and we feel a deep connection to all living beings. This is the point where the ego becomes enmeshed with the feelings of the heart and where we start to identify with our emotions. The fourth chakra is also where we start to experience love, not just as an emotion, but as a state of being. It is through this chakra that we connect with our higher selves and with the divine.
Shakti mantras are powerful sound vibrations that can help to open, balance, and heal the Anahata chakra. The following are some examples of Shakti mantras that can be used to bring the kundalini shakti all the way up the spine:
Another mantra also helps to conquer the seemingly impossible by boosting self-confidence:
The following mantra channels the energy of Tara, who is the compassionate mother in the Tibetan tradition:
It is at the heart center of the Anahata Chakra where love resides. This is the love that we have for others, as well as the love that we have for ourselves. This is the love that helps us heal our wounds, the love that allows us to forgive. The love that sees us through our darkest hours. This is the Anahata Chakra.
